Steve grew up in Dundee, New York and after a U.S. Military Police career he has been a member of the Yates County Sheriff's Department and has served as Penn Yan's Chief of Police.

Steve is married to Wendy and they have two terrific teenagers, Bryan and Madison. Steve is a member of the Barrington Rifle Club and Penn Yan Flying Club. He enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.
